Tastes Just Like Chicken!

We are now in Can Tho, about four hours into the delta from Saigon. We've scored a room in a four-star hotel for a change, and are spending much of today in the swimming pool to beat the heat.

There's a riverboat restaurant across the street. We've been to it before on a previous trip. One item jumped out at us on the menu. Last time, we didn't have the nerve to order it. This evening, we ordered our normal items, and the Braised Rat.

My food came, then her soup came. No rat. We were about done eating and asked what happened? The waitress started making excuses for why the rat takes so long (over an hour). I think the truth is she forgot to put the order in.

The rat never arrived until we were well into disputing the bill. So this time, no rat. Too bad, when I saw it, it looked good!
