The Red Eye

It was raining when we left home. A friend of mine says that if the weather is so bad, you have a hard time getting to the airport, you shouldn't fly that day. Not to worry, it wasn't raining that hard.

Something strange happened with our reservations. We were not seated together, and the flight was full. When we boarded the plane, I explained our problem to the man who would be sitting next to My Lovely Wife, he was happy to trade seats with me. Once we arrived at Schiphol Airport, we found the KLM counter and had the rest of our flights updated so we would be seated together. The problem occurred because we were traveling on Delta Sky Miles. KLM is a Delta partner. But each of us had booked our flights separately using our own miles. We should have contacted KLM much sooner, but we were doing other travel before this trip.

The train from the airport was just 4.2 Euros each. Our hotel was a short walk from Amsterdam's Central Station. We checked into the hotel and went to sleep.

Later, we walked around, and noticed lots of steak houses, pot stores, and sex shops. We bought water and sent the "I'm Ok" emails.
