We came to Costa Rica mostly to see the rain forest. This morning was our introduction. We did a two-hour hike through the forest. At one point, we crossed a 900 foot long hanging bridge which was made of steel, and would swing if people didn't walk right down the middle.
Along the way, we found a small Horned-Nosed Pit Viper. It was coiled right next to the trail, and didn't move. It may have been too cold for the snake to be able to move. More Toucans were spotted.
Shooting in the rain forest was more difficult than normal. It can be difficult to get the camera to focus on the subject of the shot. In the rain forest, there are a lot of targets to focus on at many different distances. A couple of the pictures for this day are soft.
Time to move on. On the way to Chachagua, we stopped in a small town to buy groceries. We did this same activity on The Jambo Tour a year ago. I waited to see if the result would be the same.
The hotel was extremely beautiful, with each couple given a bungalow. It reminded me of a resort on the island of Kauai.
Before dinner, we had a Spanish lesson. I'm from California, and I should know more Spanish than I do. But I was surprised at how much I did know. I can't string together a sentence, but I can introduce myself, and ask where the gentlemen's is.
