It's beach day! We drove south to Manuel Antonio National Park. There was a short walk down a wide dirt path. Pricilla had her telescope and pointed out several animals including Two and Three-Toed Sloths. There were also a lot of black-faced monkeys.
We arrived at a beautiful cove I'm calling Goldilocks Beach. Pricilla staked out a picnic table for us to drop our back packs on, which she would watch. Most of us then jumped into the ocean. Where I live, the Pacific is cold. You need a wet suit or you'll get hypothermia. Hawaii is really nice, but you probably want a half wet suit if you're going to stay in the water long. The hottest water I've been in (other than certain days at work) was the Arabian Sea which was bath tub hot. You can't swim in it for the opposite reason you can't swim in the ocean near my house. But the temp in Manuel Antonio National Park was just right. About nine of us swam out thirty or so meters behind the surf line. I'm not sure how deep it was, but we got past the turbulent water and stayed out there quite a while without getting too hot or too cold.
We did not exit as we had entered. We continued along the coast to another picture-perfect beach. At this point, we were out of the park, and there were two vendors selling Coco Frio (cold coconuts). My Lovely Wife was happy and helped the local economy.
We ended our day at the beach of our gated community. It was a little dirtier than Goldilocks Beach, but the sun had nice framing by some rocks.
