As normally happens when we come to Vietnam, the first day was spent arranging tours. We're camped in a section of Saigon where there are many tour companies. One can walk from company to company, comparing features and rates.
One of the reasons My Lovely Wife as come is to meet with many of her friends from school. Some she has not seen in decades. This evening, I came along to be shown off, and sit on the sofa and look pretty.
At one point I was sent to get a massage. I dropped into a clinic where the locals get worked on. When I entered it was one of those weird moments where everyone stopped what they were doing to stare at me. What's the white guy doing here? I sat down and waited my turn. Good massage, but I was a little sore the next day.
Back at the conclave, we decided to pick up dinner at a grocery. Big C is the first big box grocery I've seen in Vietnam. It's bigger than most Asian markets in The States. But what really caught my attention was that Big C is not over-crowded. You can stroll through it without feeling like a sardine. And it also didn't stink. The Asian markets back home have an odd smell to them. Even the fish section here didn't stink. Usually, that means fresh food.
Back to the conclave where we ate, more women arrived, and I watched a couple movies with the sound turned off. If you're thinking this was very noble of me, think again. I once took My Lovely Wife to Kennedy Space Center where she was bored out of her skull. Sometimes you're excited to be where you are, sometimes you're Your Lovely Wife's arm candy.
